PSUPLA Excellence Awards

The Pakistan Small Units Power Loom Association (PSUPLA) proudly celebrates the innovation, resilience, and contribution of individuals and businesses that are shaping the future of Pakistan’s textile and power loom industry. Through our annual Excellence Awards, we recognize achievements in technology adoption, sustainable practices, worker welfare, and leadership in small and medium-scale textile enterprises. Our Awards serve as a platform to inspire industry stakeholders, highlight best practices, and showcase how small units are contributing to the broader growth of Pakistan’s economy.

Innovation Award

2022 Awards

Technology Integration Award – 2022
Winner: Zahid Ahmad, Thin Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
Acknowledged for introducing low-cost loom automation solutions tailored specifically for small units, including retrofitting sensors for shuttle looms to improve fabric consistency.

Community Impact Award – 2022
Winner: Kasur Power Loom Cooperative
Recognized for pooling resources among 70 small loom owners to establish a shared yarn procurement system, reducing costs by 15% and stabilizing supply for members.

2022 Awards

2021 Awards

Excellence in Digital Technology Adoption - 2021
Winner: Ahsan Sharif, MaxobizTex
Recognised for deploying AI-based production tools across PSUPLA member units between 2015 and 2020. The MaxTex platform introduced automated cutting-plan generation, shade- batch grouping, and order sequencing algorithms to small-scale power loom operations. A complementary module, LoomIQ, provided constraint-based loom scheduling and real-time OEE dashboards, enabling unit owners to monitor utilisation and classify downtime by cause. Participating units reported fabric wastage reductions of 20–25% and on-time delivery improvements averaging 17 percentage points. The tools were designed for environments with limited IT infrastructure and demonstrated that digital optimisation could be adapted to smaller production scales without requiring enterprise-level investment.
