PLTTF LAB (Power-Loom Technical & Testing Facility)
There is no widely-published, dedicated “Power-Loom Technical & Testing Facility (PLTTF)” specifically
owned by small-loom associations that I could find in public records. However, textile testing and
accredited labs exist and serve small units; these include:
- Pakistan Textile Testing Foundation (PTTF) — established 2005, state-of-the-art textile
testing laboratory (ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and a wide range of textile tests). PTTF (linked with
PTEA) provides colorfastness, tensile, bursting, and other fabric performance tests. For small units
requiring testing, PSUPLA can set a negotiated rate with PTTF.
- TTI Labs — national network offering ISO/IEC 17025 accredited testing services across
textile, apparel and restricted substances testing with presence in Lahore and liaison offices in other
cities. TTI also offers inspections and certification services.
- Tex Test Lab / Private Labs — local testing houses (Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad) that
provide pragmatic QC services for small units that cannot afford expensive lab runs.
Recommendation
PSUPLA does not currently run its own accredited full-scale testing lab. Instead PSUPLA operates a partnered
testing network that gives members preferential access to PTTF, TTI Labs and local test houses. The PLTTF
page should describe the partner labs, the exact tests available (colorfastness, tensile, pH and chemical
residue tests), sample submission procedures, partner contact emails and negotiated member rates (if
applicable). PSUPLA can also run a small in-cluster QC point for quick pre-shipment checks (visual GSM,
count, shade checks) and refer full testing to PTTF/TTI.
